St. Martin’s School was founded in a house in Langley Park, in the dip of the road alongside a stream which ran down to The Broadway and into Silk Stream and was subsequently destroyed in the bombing of the 1940’s.
Eventually St. Martin’s School outgrew the existing accommodation and moved to Goodwyn Avenue in Mill Hill. Miss Joss took over the ownership and headship in 1947. She remained in that position until 1973 when Mrs Gillian Murray purchased the school and remained for the next twenty one years. Mrs Angela Wilson became the new owner and Head Teacher in 1996.
Over 20 years later, in December 2016, Mrs Wilson announced her retirement from her Headship. We are delighted to welcome Dr Jason Walak as the new Head Teacher of St Martin’s School.
‘I would like to thank Mrs Wilson for her faith and confidence in me as I take the school forward into a new future. Whilst we will continue to be the warm, nurturing, academically focused school that we have always been, we will also be preparing the children for their digital futures in innovative and creative ways.’
